From painting to wearing happiness.

I ran my own clothing company, Banana Pintada, for three years, where I created all of the original prints and focused on expressive, festival-inspired wear. Each design was infused with color, movement, and story—reflecting my background as both an artist and a creative director. You can find some of the looks on Instagram at @_bananapintada

Transforming Art into Fashion

1. Research & Inspiration

The process begins with extensive research and gathering inspiration. I explore various sources, such as nature, art history, and current fashion trends, to generate ideas for my designs. This phase involves studying color theory, textures, and patterns that resonate with my artistic vision. I also consider the target audience and market trends to ensure the designs are both innovative and appealing.

2. Creating & Painting the Artwork

With a clear vision in mind, I move to the physical creation of the artwork. Using traditional mediums like paint on paper, I craft vibrant, expressive pieces that serve as the foundation for the textile patterns. Each artwork is carefully developed to reflect the themes and emotions identified during the research phase, ensuring that the final product will be visually impactful.

3. Digitalizing & Adjusting Patterns

Once the artwork is complete, the next step is digitalization. I scan the paintings at high resolution and import them into design software. Here, I refine and adjust the patterns to ensure they are seamless and suitable for textile printing. This phase may involve color correction, resizing, and repeating the pattern to create a cohesive design that works across different fabric types and sizes.

4. Conceptualizing Fashion Designs

With the digital patterns ready, I begin conceptualizing the fashion designs. This involves sketching out garment styles and cuts that will best showcase the patterns. I consider the drape and flow of the fabric, ensuring that the design complements the artwork and enhances the overall aesthetic. Each sketch is developed with both creativity and practicality in mind, balancing artistic expression with wearability.

5. Textile Printing & Manufacturing

After finalizing the designs, I collaborate with textile printers and manufacturers to bring the garments to life. The digital patterns are printed onto high-quality fabrics, maintaining the vibrancy and detail of the original artwork. The manufacturing process is closely monitored to ensure that the garments are produced to the highest standards, with attention to detail in construction and finish.

6. Launching & Selling

Once the garments are manufactured, they are prepared for launch on my online platforms. This includes photographing the pieces, writing product descriptions, and creating marketing materials. I then promote the collection through various channels, targeting customers who value originality and bold, expressive fashion. Each piece is presented as a wearable work of art, emphasizing the unique creative process behind its creation.
